Dear Adventurers,
You have had a couple of days to explore our new iShop and we already appreciate your feedback. Please note that we will probably make a few adjustments, since such a project can hardly be perfect from the very beginning.
Nevertheless, here is an overview of the new system and changes applied to the iShop:
New, lighter, ergonomic design
We have tried to reduce the number of categories and links to be clicked so that the new version is easier to use. Please note that we may implement a few more options in the future regarding your feedback (search mode, sorting out options, etc.)
Multilingual service
It took us time but finally, the iShop now supports up to three languages: English, French and German. That is the least we could do for a multicultural community.
News feed
A news feed has been included to the homepage (not used at the moment), which will allow us to display all information concerning new items, promotional offers or even technical issues, if this happens.
Reduced number of items (especially equipments).
We felt that the old version had way too many items and that it had become impossible to read through all of them. The range of items available at the same time will be short, but will rotate more often. You can expect at least half of the items to change every month or so.
Items now require a certain status to be purchased.
We wanted to bring back the Miles and status system to the foreground and this is a part of the plans. The purpose is to reward players for their loyalty: as they go through the Silver, Gold or even Platinum status, they gain access to new items and more interesting prices. Required statuses are subject to adjustments depending on feedback: consider this as a first version that needs a little tuning.
Instant purchase or basket options
You can now add items to a basket before checking out, instead of making individual payments for every item you need. The new iShop also handles large quantity purchases, both in instant and basket modes.
The Miles to Karats option conversion rate has been increased.
Buying items is now 100 times more interesting than ever! Basically, the new conversion rate returns you 10% of your purchase, which we feel is a great improvement.
On the other hand, status downgrade will now occur instantly. Ex: if you have 60 000 miles (Silver status) and convert 40 000 miles into Karats, you will get 400 Karats but will go back to Ivory status (threshold is at 30 000). It’s up to you to decide whether you want free Karats instantly or keep your status.
Miles penalty has been reviewed and is now less punishing than before.
Connecting the game at least once a day prevents you from losing Miles. However, you can now take a vacation day from the game without losing Miles. The first loss will only happen after 2 consecutive days of absence: you will lose 1% of your total Miles, regardless of how much you have, then 1% more for every day of absence beyond 2, up to a maximum of 30%. There is also a 5% more loss in case you are absent more than 10 days in a month. Please keep in mind that all you need to do is connecting the game once a day.
[This function has been disabled for tests purposes so far and will be switched on again soon with a retroactive effect]
We already have several ideas to make the Miles rewarding program more interesting in the future but since they require further development, it might take a little time to implement.
We are constantly looking for ways to make your experience better: should you have suggestions for improvements or bug reports, please send them to the Support team and we will gladly take them into account. There is always room for improvement and as such, any kind of feedback is appreciated.
We thank you for your attention and support.
The Ragnarok Online Team,
